Scotts Mills
Marion County, 97375
The town itself is sleepy and remote and the residents are probably happy to keep it that way. The roads have no sidewalks and no need for them. Like many small places in western Oregon Scotts Mills actually used to have a working commercial mill. The city park is now at the site of the old mill where water power and human will ground Willamette valley grains into flour. Near the head waters of Butte Creek, the park still has a nice pond and waterfall. If you go past the park on Crooked Finger Road for nine miles you come to Camp Dakota, a well known camping and recreation establishment.
