If it were not for the Snake River Adrian would be in Idaho. The town is located on the Oregon Trail southern alternate route, a trail that avoided crossing the Snake River. The Owyhee river flows in to the Snake just north of Adrain and that means that the giant Owyhee reservoir and its great recreational opportunities is not far away.
