Prairie City

Prairie city is a modestly successful modern town of more than 1000 citizens. In this gold rush country that is a bunch of people. The town was originally the western terminus of the Sumpter Valley Railroad which ran over the pass to Baker City via Sumpter. A tourist version of that line now runs excursions out of Sumpter, but they do not make it all the way to Prairie City.
