Lakeside
Coos County, 97449
Lakeside is the commercial center for Ten Mile Lakes, one of the true gems of the southern Oregon coast. Actually there are two lakes, North and South. They are connected by a small channel. Famous for bass fishing, these lakes are home to a wide variety of wild life including water skiers. Full facilities for use of the lake are available. You may not find this place interesting if you are not interested in the lakes because there is not much else. I first learned to bass fish here as a child from a rented boat. Our father had some old bass fishing tackle left over from his guiding days on the Gasconade river is Missouri. He showed my brother and I how to use it and set us off on a lifetime of bass fishing right in the middle of trout and salmon country!
