Carlton
Yamhill County, 97111
'A Great Little Town' . . . est 1899
Thirty years ago Carlton was ornamental nursery country. Several large California nurseries developed operations on Carlton's expansive farm lands in the 1980's. Before that it was a logging town. Now Carlton, with about two dozen wine tasting rooms, claims the highest density of tasting rooms per capita in the United States! That is a pretty heady claim. The town lies just north of McMinnville on the Tualatin Valley highway.
