If you can find Stanfield you can find Echo and it is worth the effort. Well maybe. You have to appreciate this sort of thing. The Umatilla river drifts lazily past the sturdy blockhouse, and the old mission slowly crumbles. It must have been all hustle and bustle when they needed that bank building. Pretty peaceful now. (I understand the bank is now restored and serves as a museum: 2012). The city maintains a nice little web page. They relate some interesting tales.
