Brookings
Curry County, 97415
Brookings is the most southerly settlement on the Oregon coast. The climate here is markedly warmer than the rest of the Oregon coast and the fishing is just a good. If the weatherman would have drawn the state line Brookings would have been included in California. A dense rain forest covers the mountains and pampas grass grows wild. The area is famous for its Easter lily production fields which spread along Hiway 99 all the way into California much like the cranberry bogs spread along the hiway near Bandon. The Chetco river finds its way to sea here.
