Linking Agriculture with Industry
Millersburg is an industrial sort of place and not widely sought out by tourists. The citizens incorporated the area in 1974 to prevent the City of Albany from annexing it. The Wah Chang zirconium processing plant has been the main employer for many years. Weyerhauser used to have a huge pulp plant there that belched enough smog and stench to stop the traffic on I-5. After changing hands a few times the plant closed and is now being dismantled. The stench is gone, but so are the jobs.
